Carissa Broadbent is quickly becoming a favorite author for me! I had read the first half of this book in July and soft DNF'd in at the end of the month with plans to revisit it in the future. Well it worked out that this book fit my last prompt for Amazing Readathon! And honestly if it wasn't for the host Bri's rave reviews for this book I may have never picked it back up!

I found the first half of this book to be very slow. Now that I've finished I understand that it was necessary for world building and character development. But I started this book twice. I do believe that I gave up on this book the second time right when it was about to get good tho!

Because last night I was on the edge of my seat reading the last 57%. I do not believe this book is for everyone tho. I am a very emotional person so I enjoyed the parts of
discovering the monster inside Tissiana. I enjoyed watching them get to know eachother and discover abilities.

I am all for strong female characters and Tissinna is definetly one. What she stands for and what is overcame to get to the point she's at is empowering!

I enjoyed the battle scene as well. It was action packed!
A lot of the battle was Tissania and the monster
but I think it made the story more interesting in my opinion. Also I don't trust the people in the order one bit! I think they are extremely selfish and only have their interests in mind.

I also thought the relationship with Max was extreme slowburn. But at the same time I want to see where it goes.
I do plan on continuing this series!
