The way that stroud writes characters and love just resonates with me. I think that this is his darkest novel yet, and I love how he respects younger readers to understand the complex intricacies of power + people that exist within his stories. So when reading as an adult, you still feel challenged and moved by the events that happen throughout.
He had such a great grasp on character over the series, and writes each of their motivations and progression in such an organic and realistic way.
He is really one of my fav authors, and this final book (like all his other final books), really hit the mark.
