The Fifth Mountain

The Fifth Mountain by Paulo Coelho
⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
If Santiago in The Alchemist was a prophet, the book would be called ‘The Fifth Mountain’.
It’s a retelling of Prophet Elijah’s journey, where he goes through self-doubt, identity crisis, loss of faith and several hardships in order to find and fulfil his destiny.
Highly motivating with a lot of lessons and gives you a solid understanding of how Destiny works and Paulo Coelho’s simplistic way of writing makes it easier to read and grasp.
Paulo Coelho’s books (I’ve read only three) are essentially self-help books written in fiction which is not a problem, the problem is
1- The writing style is extremely simplistic, which might be bland for some readers.
2- There’s a constant feeling throughout the book that the story is not going anywhere, just random situations keep coming up and everything is unpredictable and you only come to know that there was an actual plot when you finish the book.
The funny thing is despite these problems and ranting, these books end up having the most annotations and notes of all the books you own and you can’t help it.
