‘Quinn looked to the horizon as the cornstalks swayed with the breeze. The corn itself could have been waving hello, or it could have been breathing’ - Adam Cesare 🌽

I LOVE a good slasher. They’re my fav kind of horror movie, but a rare find in books. So I JUMPED on this, the title, the cover - perfect. For a YA horror, this book is terrific, a must read for blood lovers 🤡
The cornfield, the old barn and silo, the small town. A perfect setting for a clown slasher. Adam did a great job at building tension with the descriptions, the movements, the injuries 🔪 deadly!
For me, it was so close to being a new favourite. It was a little slow to start, the action didn’t kick off until the 50% mark. For me, I didn’t feel connected enough to any characters to warrant the wait 🙈
Unmasking usually bring the tension right down - particularly in books. Adam did a great job at keeping the drama level high and the reveal was very relevant to society today. 🌾
If anyone has any slasher book recommendations, leave them in the comments 👻
