If you asked me to describe what happens in this book in any sort of detail, I probably wouldn’t be able to. That doesn’t mean I didn’t absolutely love it, I was just thoroughly confused by the time the book ended. That doesn’t detract from the story for me at all, I really enjoy stories that prompt discussions with their ambiguity, this would make an excellent book club pick!

The way that tension builds throughout the novel, from the man in the window, to the Caller, the farm, the parents - honestly haven’t read anything else that felt so vividly creepy before. The description of the pigs was delightfully revolting, the only other book that’s made me so viscerally disgusted was the ending of ‘things have gotten worse since we last spoke’ (also an amazing read)

Admittedly, it did get off to a bit of a slow start, but I’ve been on a string of DNFs so I pushed my self through the first quarter/third, and the rest was just stellar!
