Running from the FBI on trumped-up charges, Davis knows she's living on borrowed time. Once caught, instead of being gunned down like she'd half expected, Davis is forced to spend time awaiting trial in the very prison system she wanted to reform. This experience is weaved into her education, both born of experiences sought and forced upon her. How does recognising the impact of race, sex and class on inequality and considering Communism as a possible solution lead to becoming the FBI's most wanted? Only by reading this Autobiography can anyone seeking real change realise what price might be asked of us.
