The Hidden World of the Fox by Adele Brand

4.0

A lovely little read for fox lovers. Highly readable work that makes clear quite a bit of scientific information, including how to count animal populations, which is something I think about a lot.

In the surprise category: who was expecting this bit of philosophy "fear is the parent of cruelty" - don't I know it.

The book did leave me a little bit sad as Brand, a leading expert in the field, claims we're still far from domesticating foxes. Alas, there will be no pet fox in my lifetime.
