oh it's so good. sure it's dated at points and the fish listing slows the pace (which is so intentional and effective!!!) but most of it holds up. Verne's vision of the science of the future is so intricate and I wish more of it was true and came to pass. I also wish there was a secret tunnel under the Suez and an entire sunken city in Atlantis, but alas. His descriptions of the Nautilus and all of her wonders are deeply engaging, much like her captain. When will a genius brooding sea captain sweep ME away and show me the wonders of the ocean deep, I ask you. and he can play the organ. Captain Nemo if you're still out there and single.....
