I want to start this review off with saying that I loved the storyline and thought the plot was great. It really does encapsulate a perfect cozy reading feel. the reason I rated this book 3 stars is because truthfully, I really didn’t like the writing. It felt like I was reading a cringey self insert Wattpad fanfiction that is not very well written (although i’ll admit: the writing gradually got better in the very last few chapters). don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with books that have a Wattpad fanfiction energy to them. I acknowledge that this is just a personal preference of mine, but for me when I read a book and that’s the feeling I get from it, it can be a bit offputting for me and i have trouble with wanting to finish stories like that. I still think that i’ll continue the series when the next book is released because again, I liked the plot and storyline enough that I want to continue along with it. The only flaw of this book is that I just didn’t like the writing that much. But just because I didn’t like the writing, doesn’t mean that others won’t like it. So don’t let my review deter you from checking this book out, the storyline itself is great and it’s worth a read if you want something cozy and quick that you can read and you don’t mind fanfiction style writing!
