This stories felt really lived in and relatable, like things that I could very easily imagine being in my friends' presents or pasts. I loved the glimmers of hope and despair and power and pain in the narrators' relationships with other trans people and the contrasting general flat sadness of their relationships with cis people. Not a book that offers a way out but one that offers a look in.
