The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory

4.0

People who read this book and hated it because of the historical liberties missed the point. This isn't a biography, and it's certainly not an academic resource. It's more like a reimagining of what could have happened back then, I think. A Tudor/Boleyn AU, basically. I literally devoured this book in about a week as it was an easy read, with lots of juicy details and intrigue.

It was basically historical Gossip Girl, but there's nothing wrong with that. I thought it was a really fun read and it definitely piqued my old interest in Tudor England - meaning lots of googling names of the characters in the books. I read this during and slightly after uni finals week and it was perhaps even better because it wasn't very challenging and a good way to relax between studying and exams.

Overall a fun, intriguing read.
