So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish by Douglas Adams

5.0

A favorite, repeatedly read to the point that I find I'm reading it and remembering it in parallel, a bit unstuck in time. Perfect for reading aloud, or on a damp day to one's self while covered in cats. Mostly, I can't pick it up without remembering at every moment that this is probably the clearest view of humanity I have seen, and likely will ever see.

Joy and horror and laughter, all together.
