Although an intriguing premise, this book - geared towards teens - carries a message of: "It doesn't get better." In a time where the pressures of teenage life and high school are more confusing and nuanced than ever, a book that tells the story of a girl who gives up all hope and decides to tell the story of her own suicide in a way designed to individually wound and avenge herself upon those she sees as failing her is, at best, tone-deaf, and, at worst, a grievous failing of every teenager in an attempt to capitalize on their suffering.
