The Master and Margarita
by Mikhail Bulgakov
Everyone who complained about Crime and Punishment last year while reading it in a leisurely manner...I dare you to read this book the way I did. 100 pgs one day, 68 the next, 48 a few days later, 180 the next day.
It doesn't really have a central protagonist. For the first half of the novel, it follows various members of the institutions Woland sees as corrupt. Nearly everyone gets their own chapter, and at the speed I was reading, it was hard to keep everyone straight.
After focusing on Margarita in the latter half, the epilogue helped to place the characters from the first half.
Nonetheless, I really enjoyed it.
But seriously, I DARE YOU to read it crazy fast and still keep everything straight. Difficulties...
