Slightly Scandalous
by Mary Balogh
We get it. Freya is an independent woman. An independent woman in regency era England. Flying in the face of conventions. Going her own way, despite society's expectations. She can do anything without the help of a man. In the end, she ends up falling in love with a man. Even though she doesn't need him. Her determination to assert her independence and go against the grain grated on the nerves after awhile. I didn't find her to be particularly believable and certainly not likable. Her love interest was much more interesting and dynamic.
