Love this book by my sweet friend and Wichita Tribe member Kim Rogers! I love this #ownvoices book about the special relationship between grandmothers and granddaughters. There are some beautiful native traditions described, back matter from Cynthia Leitich Smith on the new Heartdrum label, an Author’s Note, information on beadwork and a glossary. I enjoyed this precious book which reminded me of my special relationship with my grandmother. So happy for Kim and her first picture book. (She has a couple stories in Ancestor Approved, which is one of my 23 in 2023 picks).
