Golden Girl by Elin Hilderbrand
3.0

This is my second Elin Hilderbrand book and it was leaps and bounds better than 27 Summers. But with that said, it still had its issues. In particular I detested Carson’s character and the constant coddling of her just because she was beautiful. Amy seemed like a dolt and I didn’t care about her perspective. Instead, I would have liked to see Savannah’s perspective. I also wished Hilderbrand either would have dropped the quasi racism storyline or explored it more instead of tiptoeing around it. I also hated that Nantucket had a perspective; it seemed like an odd choice.

This is definitely a shallow beach read in that there are no real surprises and the characters are shallow. It’s very obvious who killed Vivi and what the picture is of with Leo. But regardless, something about this book was vaguely charming.
