“Matilda Pages pushed open the door of Pages & Co. and breathed in deeply, taking in the familiar scent of just-blown-out candles, dark chocolate, and, of course, books.”

A first line to hook every book lover. This book was a dream. Tilly lives with her grandparents who own a bookstore in England. When Tilly finds herself talking to Alice (from Wonderland) and Anne (from Green Gables) she discovers that she can travel INTO books. Visit the worlds and hang out with the characters. For any book lover that wished they could jump into a book, this was so fun!

Yes, this book is for children, but to be fair it also references a couple adult books. When fall started I was itching for magical worlds and for cozying up with fantasy. I was also dealing with random anxiety attacks and couldn’t focus on much. Then there was the election night that didn’t end. So, I devoured the three books in the series that week. LOVED the first one and couldn’t stop, but looking back the other two I didn’t love so much.

Wonderful on audio! The book is also super cute with adorable images throughout. Treat yourself or a book-loving child.
