The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien

4.0

A great start to the trilogy. We have our hero setting out from the only home he’s ever known with friends on a quest to save the world. The Tom Bombadil section was a bit slow, but the race away from the ring wraiths to Rivendell and the formation of the Fellowship was excellent. I also love the noble and tragic character of Boromir and the intense love and loyalty of Samwise Gamgee (i.e. the best character in this entire book).
