This was an anime in a book format. It reminded me of Inuyasha - we've got Feudal Japan, monster of the week & an adventure to find fragments of a scroll  -cough- shikon jewel. There were pages where it got a bit slow but aside from that, what a fun adventure! I'm excited to read the next book and see how the adventure continues!
