The Bakeshop at Pumpkin and Spice by Kate Angell, Allyson Charles, Donna Kauffman

5.0

Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
These 3 adorable novellas revolve around the Bellaluna Bakery in Moonbright, Maine. The Bellaluna women possess a gift for matchmaking, when someone eats one of their special cookies, they can’t help but meet their soulmate.

Sweet Magic by Donna Kauffman ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This adorable tale was one that followed Abriana Bellaluna, the granddaughter and baker and the title bakeshop. Abriana has begun to doubt her magical abilities until a certain Caleb Dimitriou waltzes into her bakery and takes a bite of one sweet treat. They bond over a love of being in the kitchen and their romance is very sweet and fluffy. But I felt that there was a lot of buildup for not a whole lot of plot. Everything was coming to a head and the next page they were living happily ever after. I was left wanting a little more from the story.

Love Spells Disaster by Allyson Charles ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This story was fantastic! We follow Cassie Hie, a headstrong woman with a difficult past, after the one thing she know will make her future simple: a good, stable, man. Of course, when she goes to Bellaluna’s searching for a way to win him over, she’s not expecting the cookies to be quite so effective… on the wrong man. Enter Chip Gneiss, local handy man with a heart of gold, who looks great in a pair of worn jeans. Cassie desperately wants to stick to her plan, but she’s unable to deny the passion and chemistry between her and Chip. Filled with adorable banter and a love of haunted houses and home-made cookies, this story is truly sweet.

Sweet on You by Kate Angell ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This story was delightful. After being broken up with by her boyfriend, let go from her job, and having her rent rates hiked, Lara Shaw is feeling down and out. Until her childhood crush and current Mayor of Moonbright, Jack Hanson offers her a job planning the town’s Halloween Parade. She eats up the opportunity, as well as the Bellaluna cookies he bought. Sweet on You has a surprising amount of character development for it’s short length, you really get to know and feel for the colorful cast. It’s equal parts sweet and steamy, and probably my favorite of the 3 stories!
