The Multiversity by Grant Morrison
3.0

This is the most Grant Morrison-y Grant Morrison I have ever read. Take that as either recommendation or condemnation, as you will.

As for me, I think I enjoyed it, especially towards the end as things start to resolve and you start to be able to see where earlier bits fit into the larger picture and figure out exactly what the hell is going on. Trust me and read it (or at least skim through it) again a second time once you've finished. Like any good book and a lot of Morrison books, it is a LOT more rewarding the second time through.

As a not-very-but-I-guess-slightly-spoilery aside,
Spoilerat one point in the book there is a map and guidebook for all 52 of DC's parallel universes. It made me really happy to see that my favorite non-canon Batman of all time, Detective Comics Annual #7 from 1994 (an Elseworlds story where Batman, Catwoman and the Joker are all pirates), got a shout-out and was labeled as Earth-31. Like, really really happy. You don't even know.
