Wow! What a draw. A slow burn why choose romantic fantasy. I was immediately drawn in. I'm honestly surprised it's taken me this long to find it. I absolutely will be reading the next book.

Melas has no memory of who she is but she does remember some things. Mostly the things that convince her she's human but everyone else swears she is not. And then there's Zura, the small child she would risk life and limb to protect. Why they're in danger? She doesn't know. But coming across an Incubus, Vampire and Berserker might be just the people she needs to find out.

These characters are so well thought out. They're so different and yet fit together in such a way that just feels right. What a breath of fresh air to have a child already present in the dynamic and she's not just a hindrance to the story. Zura is so capable and her interactions with the men and Melas, her mom, is so heartwarming I was always happy to read it.

Melas is one strong woman. Even not knowing who she is she does not take shit from anyone. She will fight tooth and nail to protect herself and Zura even against those trying to help her.

Andrei, Orren and Ridhor are quite the trio. So vastly different and yet work together like brothers to try and make sense of what's going on with Melas.

The worldbuilding is slow but easy to follow along which I appreciated and excited to see where it's going to go.

That ending though! I need more.
