How can I fully say everything there is to say about the sagas in this book? There's humor, there's battles, there's legal feuds and blood feuds and witchcraft and berserkers and kings and peasants. It's absolutely everything you could want from Old Norse literature. Gwyn Jones has done phenomenal translation work, and this book is like a peep back in time to view the world as the medieval Icelanders and Norwegians saw it.
Moderate: Incest and Rape
Technically there is an instance of cannibalism. A person is transformed into a bear and other people then eat the bear, the main character unwillingly.
