Yes this is a fantasy, but it's mostly a family drama. A really messed up family.
Yeine Darr never expected to be summoned to floating city of Sky to claim her inheritance. Her grandfather is the King and he named her heir along with two of her cousins. The struggle is real when she finds out not all of them will live. She spends most of her time there searching for her killed her mother and trying to find out what her mother was like before she was born. The captive Gods help her and she makes a pact with them to try to save them. She learns that not everything is as it seems and she has been used since before she was even born.
I very much enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more even though the way it was written you could say it's a standalone and quit here.
