Into the Riverlands by Nghi Vo

I am thoroughly obsessed with this series of novellas. Nghi Vo has such a distinct voice for Chih that I feel like they’re a real person. Almost Brilliant is consistently a funny side character, and the banter with her cleric is truly priceless. I also really enjoyed the cast of side characters this time around and the intersection of mythology and real life coming together in a truly poetic way. The atmosphere came to life and I genuinely could not put the book down. I thing Nghi Vo put it best in her acknowledgements that you can never truly know a person and the sadness and excitement that comes with that feeling. Very excited to continue to delve into the vignettes of this magical and stunning world.
