Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson

3.0

I was really disappointed by this book. Normally I love Sanderson, but with Warbreaker, it was a chore to continue to the next chapter. Suspension of disbelief was hard -- I couldn't get past the talking sword and frequent, explanatory monologues. It felt more like a YA novel than high fantasy.

If you read this, please do not utilize the audiobook. That was a big part of why I didn't enjoy Warbreaker. Although the narrator was good at differentiating characters, his delivery of Lightsong was *painful*. Every line - even the serious ones - sounded like a sarcastic jock and made me nearly despise the character.
