3.5 stars - Quick and entertaining read. As other reviewers said the title is a little misleading, the author doesn’t focus at all on his race or being “unlikely” and actually doesn’t want it mentioned or focused on. I’m not a fan of the never been hiking but headed out to the wilderness trope and usually avoid it, I missed that about this story. There’s no real substance to the story, just his experiences on thru-hiking and folks he met along the way, he talks very little about himself. Entertaining overall.
