I did enjoy this book! As a romance novel, I feel like Emily Henry really did it right. The love and relationship doesn't feel as contrived as many of the romance books I have read before are. There is no miscommunication as a plot point, but just believable human interactions and emotions. For this reason alone, I liked this book so much better than expected. Henry really fleshed out January and Gus in a way that felt realistic. I appreciated the casual spiciness and definitely found myself giggling and blushing. It was a light easy read that really immersed me and made me want the Michigan summers back lol!

I know this is probably just heavy expectations for a romance, but I wanted more about the cult and a little more time spent healing from the January's father's affair. I think Henry built these big potentials and dropped them more to focus on the romance, which makes sense for this novel.

While not my favorite book ever, it is a romance book that I actually enjoyed. Will I read all of Henry's back catalog? Probably not, but reading the new releases from her might be a nice way to escape the world for a second. I would recommend this book to those who want a easy, fun romance read.
