Good Neighbors: The Full Collection by Stephanie Burgis

5.0

Mia is an inventor with magic over metal. Although she tries to hide, when she’s found out and hunted by her neighbors for being unnatural, she moves away. But her new neighbor, a very attractive necromancer in a sinister black castle isn’t interested in hiding. So, should she be a good neighbor and join him? Lander and Mia develop an alliance of mutual protection and confront dangerous prejudice against their kind. This is a cozy-spooky rom-com series of novellas about acceptance and being different. It’s both very funny and heart-warming. There are lots of fun tropes here, too - a magic duel at a Necromancers Ball, a pretend marriage with one bed, a subterranean river under the opera house, and daring midnight rescues.
