To me, this was just another SJM fantasy work. All of her novels are pretty much the same - same love stories, same hero, same descriptions of characters, but they provide a good "escape" from reality. The characters all resembled those in ToG and ACOTAR which is understandable since this is just what she writes.

I'll of course read the rest of this series because I like fantasy, I like SJM, and I like to escape from real life.
