The Three Musketeers
by Alexandre Dumas
I had no idea how accurate the movies were... heh. Seriously, it's pulpy picaresque fun with a vague attempt at plotting (so the bad guy had a full day head's start, we'll still beat her to England, because the plot works better that way!)
Loved the snarky wit, cringed quite often at the misogyny... hated the ending. Spoiler alert: ten men 'bravely' kill a single unarmed woman. Really, is that how we want the conflict resolved? I got the feeling Dumas just got tired and decided to have the villain not escape this time so he could end the story.
Still, love that Aramis. I get the feeling he's very molestable.
