An EXCELLENT book. Susanna Clarke has a prose style unlike any I have read before. She is able to distill so much world building into a few words. I found myself wanting to slow down and prolong the book to spend more time with the book.
The setting is beautiful and chilling. The relationship between The House and Piranesi is such a beautiful exploration of how our environment shapes and nurtures us.
This may mean that the book is not for everyone. You have to trust how the story is revealed.
