In a Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware

4.0

I have already re-read this book and I just got it in December. Makes me want to read Ware’s other novels. I love a female-centered mystery, and this one never feels unrealistic or campy. Nora (Lee? Leo?) is a dynamic and reasonable protagonist who is so easy to empathize with and care about; the side characters are equally as interesting and entertaining to read about as their own involvement in the mystery - big or small - builds to a truly surprising and unexpected reveal. I was genuinely guessing until the very last moment. Highly recommend.
