Blacksouls by Nicole Castroman

5.0

As someone who enjoys being thrown into the world of swashbuckling and pirates this series didn't disappoint. Despite the first book being more of a historical romance than an adventure I went on to read Blacksouls, the 2nd in the series. Let me tell you I am so glad that I did!

Teach and Anna's relationship was so much better in this book than the first, and I give that credit to the first book leaving us on such a cliffhanger. Both of the characters had developed so much more in this book and we were able to see them really step into who they were meant to be rather than them being bored with the social life of London, like in the first.

I will proudly admit to being complete pirate/swashbuckling adventure trash, and I am really happy with the amount that was included in this book. The descriptions that the author used and the different interactions were just right, sometimes authors can get a little carried away or not get into it enough, that is not the case with this.

Side notes:
Nicole Castroman did a great job of making you absolutely love certain characters and hate others.

Also, if you were not a fan of the first book please put that aside and continue onto the second one, it will not disappoint you.
