The Light Between Oceans by M.L. Stedman

slow-paced

3.0

A good pastoral type of book about a lighthouse keeper in Australia, his wife, and an infant girl that comes to them on their otherwise uninhabited island, and the unseen ramifications of their decision to raise her as their own. Fascinating descriptions of the workings of the early 1900's lighthouse, as well as of rural Australia, and the small towns along the coast. Further in, the book delves into deeper questions about parenthood, moral codes, the concepts of right and wrong and their intersection and diversion from the responsibilities to one's family and spouse. A worthy read . . . .
