I rolled my eyes SO MUCH at F'lar, and am impressed that Lessa and the others can stand him. I don't think that I'd have been able to complete this book if not for the narrator of this audiobook, as he did a fantastic job. The mysteries of the Weyrs and the growth between the characters and the change in how they saw the world was very cool to experience, and while the middle of the book was a little slow for comfort, I was able to get through it with the help of the audiobook.
It's certainly not my favorite, mostly due to F'lar being one of the main characters and far too full of bravado and machismo for my taste, but Lessa and Ramoth made up for it with their indomitable spirits and the way they fought for the good of Pern.
