By itself the book is well written, with a good story. But as a book in the series of The Others, it's rather repetitive. The formula is getting very over used. It's the same story of a female escaping from humans in power which were abusing her, arrogant humans thinking they're superior to the Terra Indigene and getting themselves killed for it, etc. It's not exactly the same though, as the story was more focused on human side of things than the Terra Indigene, with the story being almost entirely told from a human perspective.
