This is more of a 2.5-3 star read for me. As with any anthology/essay collections, some of the essays were really good, and really resonated, others did not. Also, trigger warnings abound for some of the essays. The ones that were really well done really portrayed how fraught and difficult ones relationship with ones mother can be and others just fell kind of flat for me. It will make me mull things over for a while though for sure.
