This book is so fantastic. Sue Lynn Tan should teach a master class on descriptive language and world building! It's so lush and romantic and it nods at literary writing from the classics while creating this new, vibrant fantasy/mythological scape and I love every second of reading it.
 The only reason that I'm not rating it 5 stars is because I wish Xingyin had ended up with a different character lol. I was rooting for someone else the whole time and after what I thought to be the loose ends getting tied up with this character and moving toward better things, she still ended up with him. 
Not that I hate him or their relationship, it's just not my taste I suppose. Other than that, this book is flawless!
