I really liked this one! Was the character likeable? Not really (which is a hard sell for me) but I still thought she was well-developed and I could see how her childhood shaped her. I appreciated the contrasts of characters. I liked that the focus was more on a strained relationship to your parents and your hometown and how returning to this setting can make you revert into old habits and personality traits. It is not really a romance which I personally preferred. I also really liked the audiobook narrator and will check out more books read by her. Side note on diversity: at this point it feels weird to have a rather large cast of characters and none of them is queer (as far as we know)
