Nevernight by Jay Kristoff
5.0
Nevernight (The Nevernight Chronicles #1)
FIRST IMPRESSIONS.
As I’m a very new reader to Jay Kristoff’s writing style I had tempered expectations about this novel; on the one hand I didn’t want to let the hype sway my decision on how good this book was going to be but on another Jay has proved himself that he can tackle any character and world. So after meeting Jay and paying for the book I started, read and finished the book and may I just say…
THIS BOOK LIVED UP TO THE HYPE.
The world was enthralling, the characters compelling and layered. The relationship dynamics and plot progression were all natural and meshed together to create a wonderful reading experience that left me wounded yet craving more of the story.
Mia oh joyous mother was a character I have been craving for a long while. She reminded vaguely of a young Riza Hawkeye. Her interactions with a phantom shadow cat and her other fellow students were the best bits of the novel. Added depth is in the form of my beloved footnotes.
Jay, I don’t know whether to hug you, stab you or something but I need the SEQUEL ASAP.
