Grateful to be a part of the ARC team for this novel. This is a dark fantasy/romance. Please read the trigger warnings.
Love me a story filled with magic and a morally grey MMC. Twists, turns, secrets, lies, found family, and a cliffhanger that my mind is still trying to wrap itself around.
Overall, I enjoyed this book. My fav characters were Eli and Milo. However the thing that made this just shy of a 4 star read for me is the FMC. I love a feisty, flawed woman who fights and is stubborn but if the stubbornness/self doubt and selfish recklessness becomes all the character is and doesn’t move forward after 400 pages it’s like beating a dead horse. I wish she had a bit more growth and I’m still looking forward to see where she goes in book 2.
