Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah

5.0

This is by far the best novel on family and friendship I've read. Kristin Hannah literally makes you, as the reader, feel every single emotion that the characters, plural, go through in a time spanning 3 decades. It's mainly about Tully and Kate's friendship from adolescence on through adulthood, but it morphs into something far greater than just these two characters, reaching into the boundaries of marriage and family. Also, excellent novel for mothers and daughters to read together. I don't want to say too much because I don't want to spoil, but you'll need to keep a box of tissues next to you while you read this because YOU WILL CRY, it's non-debatable, especially in the last 100 pgs (pretty much guarantee that you'll cry throughout as you read those last 100 pgs without stopping). But, yeah, if you like authors like Jodi Picoult and John Green, then I highly recommend this novel (and other novels by Kristin Hannah).
