Fates and Furies by Lauren Groff

2.0

I think Groff is an excellent writer. I enjoyed Monsters of Tempelton. With this work, I think the author is trying too hard to be literary. It's very over written. I did finish, I was compelled enough to know how it all ended, but it was a struggle for me. Mostly because I found the main characters to be so unlikeable, especially Mathilde. I will read more by this author, but found this work to be a disappointment.

My favorite line, "she dressed like a children's librarian or someone perpetually caught in the rain."
