The Finish Line by Kate Stewart

Cecelia is still not my favorite FMC

Now that I’m done I’ve concluded that the men, even though they have done some of the worst things, are what made and saved these books. Tobias’ flashbacks saved this book as well as his fight to get Cecelia back. He groveled and fought and while I did yell for him to just tell her that last secret already the fact he stayed when he was almost one foot out the door showed how much he was ready to change. Now Cecelia on the other hand… her inner dialogue was so frustrating. I honestly believe she regressed as a character rather than developed. To read that she did still love him and did believe his sincerity and acknowledged MANY times it was HER that was holding them back but was choosing to keep him at a distance out of spite and admitting her immaturity FOR HALF THE BOOK was exhausting. Only to read in the last act of the book that her fight and stubbornness was partially an act? To cover up her own game and secret? To prove herself as his equal?
