This book is perfect if you want a quick, cosy/spooky read with a cute slow-burn romance.

Lucky is a fun, unique character with ESP abilities. She gets a new job as a caretaker of the “haunted” Hennessee house, working with a tv production team who are trying to undercover the mysteries behind the houses paranormal activity. While uncovering more about the house and herself, she also gets to know more about the team. Her main focus though lands on the actor Maverick and his sweet, adventurous daughter Rebel. As she starts to fall for Maverick she starts to wonder if discovering more about the paranormal and building her career is the only thing she wants by the end of this mystery….

I’m a huge fan of paranormal stories and I love how Claire Kann added the element of romance in with the story to make this a heartfelt, cosy read. The characters were easily likeable and it was sweet to see how their relationships with Lucky developed over time. I especially enjoyed reding about Lucky’s relationship with Mavericks daughter, Rebel. Rebel was brave, adventurous and like her name, very rebellious when it came to following the rules. This fit perfectly with Lucky’s character as she was not one to follow the rules either and their relationship was sweet and heartwarming to witness.

The relationship between Maverick and Lucky was slow-paced and very heartwarming to read about, Their communication was full of understanding and patience and they both worked really well together! However, sometimes I would get a little lost in the conversations they would have and would need to reread a few times to understand what was happening. This made me lose interest at times but I still enjoyed all other parts of the book.

As for Hennessee house, the secrets and mystery were really fun to explore and there was times when I was really creeped out by the house!! The haunted concept was really intriguing and was the main focus for me and the most enjoyable parts were when Lucky was using her ability and exploring the house.

Overall this was a cute, spooky read which I would definitely recommend if you want a paranormal story with a romantic element to it!!
