I did not like the tone of it nor how it was presented.
I would have liked it as a short story perhaps but like a whole book it seemed a bit bareboned and rushed.
The ending reminded me of a story made for a writing class project. There was a keen sense the author presenting the characters and the setting in a manner which made it hard to seem plausible. Like the author worked very hard to put everything together and the whole thing seemed less because of that effort....I don't know how else to explain it
I had expectations to read a wholesome story and those expectations were not met. I've read much better fanfiction than this.
