The Housemaid by Freida McFadden

1.5

The housemaid is an unbelievably predictable and mediocre book with an unbearable main character. She was shallow and unlikeable throughout. I’ve never been so annoyed and disappointed at a character  before. She lacked so much common sense and self awareness that I began to root for her downfall. It was only in the last few chapters that she  suddenly becomes competent.

The pacing of the book was terrible.  Everything just seems magically works out in the last 40 pages.

I’m baffled by all the hype this book has gotten because it has been a waste of my money and time.
