I initially read this before the second season of the show and remember being a bit disappointed with Anthony’s characterization in the show afterwards. He's completely deranged in both the show and the book, but he was less so in the book I feel. After he and Kate got married he became much more palatable but beforehand he was definitely not someone I’d want to be trapped in an elevator with.
